South Africa prays for answers

Since August this year, people throughout South Africa have experienced the All Answers Event. Its message remains: if we ask God, He will answer.

More than 100 000 UCKG members and visitors have been part of this event and many more are expected to participate.

Bishop Marcelo Pires has spread this message with many inspiring and thoughtprovoking sermons. He says: “What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean,’ but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean.’” Matthew 15:11

“Maybe you have been telling your mountain to move but it doesn’t move because of what you say with your mouth, always putting yourself down. Maybe what you say is corrupting you. It may be getting you into trouble. You speak words of doubt. Your words are making you weak. You know God is great but you do not have faith that He can bless you. This is what defi les you,” said the bishop

“How do we measure faith? How do we tell if it’s big or small? The more you depend on God, the greater is your faith. The more you trust in Him, the more He will bless you,” he said

The bishop advised people to stop doubting themselves because it was never too late to start a new life and age didn’t matter. When they trusted in God, He would renew their strength. The bishop said God gave the old wisdom and the young strength.

Lindiwe, a member of the Merafe church who took part in the event, said, “‘I have the assurance of my blessings within me and I do not doubt the power of God in my life. I will pursue my blessing because I believe that all the ways to greater blessings are opened.”

“When I came here, I expected the bishop would pray for God to give us answers to our requests, but I received more than a prayer for an answer. I received guidance in the way he spoke to us. I have kept inside me what I heard today and I am no longer discouraged. My God is great and I know He can perform great miracles if only I trust in Him and don’t doubt,” said Mandla from Naledi church.
