Today marks the final day of the Fast of Daniel. The fast started on 28th March in every Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) all over the world.
Over the past 21 days, the church has been teaching people about the importance of Christians being baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit. During the fast many people managed to strengthen their relationships with God and some were baptised with the Holy Spirit.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is a real person who comes to reside within the Christian. He is the Spirit of the Living God that Jesus promised to his followers. “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”. John 14:16-18. The Holy Spirit is Omnipotent (He is the infinite power), Omnipresent (He is everywhere, no one can hide from the spirit of God) and He is Omniscient (His spirit knows all things).
How to receive the Holy Spirit?
The first and most important step for a person to be baptised with the Holy Spirit is to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as His only Lord and Saviour. The next step is to be baptised in water by immersion. No one can receive the Spirit without having surrendered his life to the Lord.
“Baptism with the Holy Spirit gives Christians power to testify with their own lives, serving as an open Bible to unbelievers, showing the Lord’s character day and night, forever. Thus, without baptism in the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to live according to the Bible; and if a person does not set an example, he cannot be a Christian, for it is written, ‘He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked”‘ 1 John 2:6

I have been a member since 2005. In the church I had never experienced what I experienced on Sunday 3 April. My greatest dream was to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
In 2007 I was baptised by the Holy Spirit but after some time I no longer focused on my spiritual life. My prayers were mostly about my family, my financial life and other material things. I ended up feeling weak and cold in my spiritual life. When the campaign of the Holy Spirit was introduced, I thought that this was definitely an opportunity for me to be revived and renewed in my spiritual life.
I participated wholeheartedly in the Fast of Daniel and on Sunday 3 April, when we were seeking His Presence I was overcome by joy as I had the assurance that I was being given the revival I so desperately wanted. I received what I had almost lost. I thank the Lord Jesus for bringing this fasting to the UCKG because today I am renewed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
