Are you in control of your kingdom?

2 Chronicles 1:1-12 reveals the secret that gives every Christian firm control over his or her decisions, emotions and life in general – to be allied with God, like Solomon.

There is no other way to build up a blessed life, not only to conquer but also to establish conquests and develop further from them, if the person’s life is not laid upon God’s Word. To surrender your inner self to God demands that you do exactly what Solomon did – sacrifice! It is the daily denial of one’s fleshly desires, of refusing to be ruled by emotion, of resisting temptations and addictions, of placing moral principles and character above everything else.

In summary, it is not to have knowledge of the word of God only, but to be willing to put it into practice every day. Solomon was sixteen years old when he was crowned as the king of Israel, and there was pressure to lead God’s people and preserve the legacy of his father, the great King David. The same pressure is mounting on you as the problems in your life stand in the way of your need for peace and happiness. You have tried on your own, but have not managed.

You have looked for God’s assistance in so many ways, but still you cannot say you are whole and complete. You are trying to live your life as a Christian, but have issues you have yet to settle. After Solomon presented his sacrifice on the altar, God appeared to him and asked, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you” (1:7)

Solomon asked what the essence of success in life is. He found out that it is God’s wisdom and knowledge. His request was a result of his spiritual condition after making his sacrifice – understanding how insignifi cant humans are in comparison to God.

God’s wisdom to change your character, your behaviour, your choices, your inner self and your commitment to Him will all turn your life around!

God bless you
