“For we do not wrestle against fl esh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
Boxing is a sport in which two contestants fi ght each other with one objective –to knock out their opponent. The physical effort and training which each boxer undergoes are all directed at the end goal – to ensure that when he steps into the boxing ring, he is going to be the winner. Boxers always fight for the knockout. They will strive to fi nd a weak point in their opponent and, once found, the boxer will punch right at that point, looking to achieve the knockout. Being in the boxing ring of life, fighting against the devil, is paradoxical in the Bible verse above.
We are constantly wrestling with the devil and his target is finding a weak point. Sometimes it can be a word that you hear or a thought that will strike you and cause uncertainty in your life. You may at this very moment be in a ring boxing against your fiercest enemy, the devil. All that he needs is a chance to punch you with his words of fear and doubt. Therefore, do not give in to words of doubt. Don’t be afraid of the problems you are facing. As a matter of fact, do not even focus on your problems, but rather on making yourself strong against the spiritual hosts of this dark world. The fast of the Holy Spirit is on!
It is your opportunity to become the stronger opponent in this spiritual warfare against the rule and principalities of the devil. Do not allow one more fast to go by without a change in your life. If you made this mistake during the last Fast of Daniel, do not repeat it again. If you do not empower yourself in this Fast of Daniel against the principalities, and you have to confront the powers of darkness, how you are going to defend yourself against the devil’s knockout blow?
God bless you.
