Many wonder why their lives do not reflect God’s greatness. Their frustration grows when they hear testimonies about what God has done in another’s life, how He has helped others out of trouble, while nothing seems to have changed for them since they first came to the church.
The Bible says without faith, it is impossible to please God. People come to church moved by the belief that God is with them. No matter what they have to face, they believe the promises of God will not fail and He will not let them down. Only later do they realise that what they had in mind and planned did not materialise. If God is great, why is He not with me? It is important to remember that God does not do ‘magic’, only miracles.
A miracle is the chemistry between God’s power and the person’s faith in His word. “By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,” concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. Hebrews 11:17-19 Faith, obedience and sacrifice equal victory. It challenges the impossible and moves mountains. It makes the strong hand of God defeat whatever enemy appears along the way.
Whoever wants to establish a successful life by faith must be clear in his mind that faith without sacrifice and obedience will not be at all effective in terms of conquests. Abraham was called the father of faith. Although he did not heal anyone, did not perform any miracle, he was able to do what many could not — believe, obey and sacrifice! You can achieve your dreams, even the one that seems beyond your reach. Your life can become as great as the life of Abraham was and even greater than that. But you will have to ask yourself if you are willing to obey God’s commands. Here is the recipe for victory that can be used by you, dear reader. Do what Abraham, Moses, Isaac, Jacob and the heroes of faith did: Obey God’s command! “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrew 11:24-26
God spoke to Abraham, Moses and many others, and gave them a greater vision about their lives. Now God is speaking to you. He wants to give you a greater life. All you have to do is to say to Him: God, tell me what you want from me, and give me strength to put it into practice. Rest assured that God will guide you and give you courage, but the action depends on you.
God bless you
