V for Virtuous – She’s Busy

Proverbs 31: 27 – She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Idleness one of today’s worst characteristics among young women in society.

How often do you hear them say ‘I’m tired’ in a day? They do what they do because they have to do it. If they could, they’d stop going to school and just hang out either in their room shut with a computer in hand or with friends at the mall. They add nothing to society except high telephone bills to be paid.

I was a young woman myself (not that I’m old now, just older) and I know how hard it is to go to school everyday, to come home and just feel like sitting in front of a TV and take in whatever they spill at us. I know what it’s like to go to bed and have a hard time getting to sleep because of all the dreams you wish could be fulfilled one day. I know that little world you created for yourself, thinking as long as you feel protected there, you can manage the loneliness. How a pet can truly be your best friend and a teddy bear, your way of taking all the stress out.

But do you know why all this? Things can never change if you don’t start changing yourself. For starters, idleness is one of the main reasons why you’re constantly bombarded by evil thoughts. If your mind is idle, it’ll attract all the dust this world offers us so in order to keep it clean, you must get yourself busy. Fill it up with ideas, things to do, challenges, things to learn, etc…

The V-woman is constantly looking for ways to improve herself and her family. She doesn’t stop at one success. There’s no TIME OUT, because that often really means TIME WASTED.

This is Cecilia, she lives here in Houston, and I’ve known her for almost two years. If you want to know what it’s like to be busy, watch her week. She works hard every single week, making sure there’s time for her husband, home, office, church, youths, and herself. She doesn’t waste time and therefore always fulfills her duties. The nice thing about being busy is that you hardly have time to sin!

She definitely doesn’t eat the bread of idleness… one wonders perhaps that is why there are so many people struggling with their weight these days… could it be that this bread makes you gain weight?

In faith,
