What is Your Objective?

Let us think about personal objectives. How do you achieve them? When the objective is reached, what impact does it have on one’s life?

What could possibly prevent you from achieving your objective? If you do not achieve it, how will it affect your life? You have to study law if you want to be a lawyer. You have to study medicine if you want to be a doctor. You have to study civil engineering if you want to be a civil engineer. For everything you want to achieve, there is a price to pay. Besides your period of study, you will need to practise what you learn.

The theoretical part alone is not enough for you to graduate. The main point here is that there is a gap between what you desire and what you achieve. This is the critical area in life when the unexpected and the unanticipated can push you off course. No one can predict what could happen – a health problem, an emotional disappointment, an unavoidable situation – any of these could distract you or cause you to abandon your chosen path. Whether you give up on your idea or you stay focused is YOUR call. It is YOUR choice. No one can decide for you, even if they want to. You are in control of your life. Bear in mind that your choice has consequences, both good and bad. If you stay focused on your objective you will see one set of results. If you drift away from your goals, everything changes.

This chart can be much more extensive. When you face challenges which threaten to derail your chosen objectives, draw up your own chart to help you assess the pros and cons of the situation. This will help you to decide whether or not you want to stay focused on your objectives or abandon those goals. Don’t forget whatever choice you make, you need to face the consequences. Which list do you choose for your life? My recommendation to you is: Stay focused on your objectives. Do not divert either to the right or to the left. That is the secret God gave to Joshua (Joshua 1:7 NKJV), and it is the same secret that will help you achieve your dreams.

God bless you all, and stay focused on your objectives.
