Building a new future

“Although my mother was already attending services in the Universal Church. I constantly declined her invitations, insisting that it was not the right time for me to attend services in the church. I wanted to continue enjoying my life and pursuing activities suitable for my age. Even though my situation was dire, I stubbornly held onto this belief.

However, my mother persisted in her efforts to bring me to the church. She even asked the assistants to visit our house and invite me personally. Whenever I saw them approaching, busy evangelising, I would quickly retreat to my room, avoiding any discussion about the church.

I was unemployed and had lost a lot money due to my gambling addiction. I constantly lived in fear of encountering law enforcement officers. I attempted various methods to improve my situation, seeking help in different places, but nothing seemed to work. Desperate and haunted by my circumstances, I eventually remembered my mother's persistence.

One day, I mustered the courage to visit the church. I arrived early in the morning and I spoke to a pastor who advised me to attend the chains of prayers for my deliverance.  From that moment, I dedicated myself to attending the chains of prayers faithfully and being committed to tithing. I immersed myself in the teachings of the Bible, understanding the significance of reading, meditating on, and obeying God’s word.

This newfound understanding brought about a significant transformation in my life. I experienced inner peace. Although I still faced challenges, they no longer consumed me as before.

Attending services in the church allowed me to develop a deeper relationship with God. It provided me with the foundation to change my life and find peace. Through perseverance and dedication, I started to witness the work of God in my life. His transformation started from within, granting me confidence and the ability to overcome my challenges.

Today, I am delighted to say that I have opened my own pest control company. I am no longer gambling and I am a law-abiding citizen. I have found true happiness in God,” said Odwa.
