Acknowledgment Night

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) has just celebrated its 33 years of existence. The Church started on the 9th July 1977, as an evangelistic work that has now produced good fruits in the lives of many people.

To celebrate this day, special events took place in different parts of the world such as Sao Paulo, Brazil where over 40,000 people gathered at Bras, which is the place the replica of the Temple of Solomon will be built. In the South, Central and North American’s Churches also European, Asian and African churches also participated in these celebrations.

In Soweto, South Africa a special night vigil “Acknowledgement Night” took place in the Cathedral of Faith. Bishop Marcelo Pires, responsible for the evangelistic work in South Africa, conducted this night vigil and encouraged all the attendants to acknowledge the place or situation where God has saved them from.

Bishop Pires reminded people that along these 33 years of existence, the UCKG has been suffering waves of persecution and it has mould it as a great and strong nation. He also emphasized that all these were foreseen by Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago, when He said : “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.” John 15

During the Night it was announced that our next vigil will be on the 27th August at the same place, where the Universal Gospel Choir will be performing live for the next UGC LIVE SHOW DVD.
