By trading your cross …

The Universal Church last week started the seven -week ‘Trade in your Cross’ chain of prayer that will run until 20th May.

These meetings will take place every Sunday in all UCKG churches around the country. ‘Trade in’ is a business term meaning to exchange something in order to get something else of greater value. In these meetings, people will be given the opportunity to exchange every problem that stands as a challenge in their families. These meetings are open to everyone who is determined to see the power of God at work in restoring peace, love and unity in their families. Based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the UCKG believes that He is the ultimate proof that the lives of Christians should also experience a resurrection; even in areas people thought were lost forever, including their families.

John 5:25 “Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. Jesus Christ called Lazarus to come out of the tomb and he came out. In the same way we will call our families, those who are spiritually dead, for God to raise them up like he did with Lazarus,” said Bishop Marcelo.

Universal News spoke to Busi, a UCKG member from the Cenacle of the Holy Spirit who said, “In my family there is no unity and peace. When I came to the church, my brother and sister stopped speaking to me. For 16 years now we are not talking to each other because of my faith. I am taking part in the next chain of prayer, ‘Trade in your cross’ because I want God to change the situation in my family and bring peace between me and my sister and brother.”
