Everything is possible for one who believes
Chinese engineer Peng Shuilin, 37, had half of his body amputated after being hit by a truck, but he never gave up. He is only 78 cm in height, but with the use of mobility aids, he has learnt to walk again – and he has even opened his own grocery business. It’s called the “Half Man Half-Price Store”!
He has undergone many operations in the years since the accident in 1995 which occurred in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. His recovery has surprised surgeons.
According to the vice-president of the Bujie Hospital, “He is amazing and maybe the only person in the world to survive with so much of his body amputated.”
His story is a testimony to perseverance and the strength of the human spirit.
