The secret to a changed life

SOWETO – More than 8,000 people gathered at the Cenacle of the Holy Spirit in Soweto, where Bishop Edir Macedo told people the secret to change their lives completely.

“In order to be first in God’s eyes, we must consider Him first in our lives. God said that we should bring the first fruit – the tithe – to Him. When you do this, you are honouring Him, showing him your faith,” said the bishop. He explained that faithfulness to God in tithes and offerings is a sign that a person considers God above everything in his or her life. The person shows God that they respect, trust and have confidence in Him. This is the true secret to change one’s life. The bishop reminded the people of Soweto that they have a rich background filled with a lot of struggle and trials. But that they were not meant to continue living in suffering and that God wanted something different for their lives. And the first step to a new life is to honour God and place Him first.

“When you honour God with your tithe, He is obligated to bless your life. If God demands us to honour Him with our tithes, we also have the right to demand he fulfil His promises in our lives. But God is not asking you to give your money, He’s asking you to honour Him above everything,” he explained. The bishop made an example of Abraham’s desire to have a son. Serving God for almost 23 years, all Abraham wanted was a son. And then God told Abraham to go out of his tent and look up at the stars. “Abraham was pleading for just ONE son, and God showed him the stars, promising him that his descendants would be as uncountable as the stars. God opened Abraham’s vision and that’s what He wants to do for you to. He wants to open the windows of heaven in your life, just like he promised in Malachi 3:10,” he concluded.

The Bishop invited everyone for a special meeting next Sunday, 03 June, at the Cenacle of the Holy Spirit in Soweto @10am.  It will be a service where people can come before God and demand the windows of heaven to open in their lives.
