On the 8th of September, the UCKG in Thokoza received a visit from Bishop Marcelo Pires. The purpose of this meeting was to pray for the people in Thokoza. The whole region had gathered together for this meeting called: THE AFTERNOON OF POWER. They firmly believed that God would change their lives through the faith that they had. Whilst waiting for the service to begin, the members enjoyed the performance of the Universal Gospel Choir.
The service started with a reading from the book of John 15:4 where it says “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” Bishop Marcelo then emphasised to the congregation that in order for one to bear fruits or have good results their life, one has to remain in the Lord Jesus. He also highlighted that even though through difficult times, where it is never easy for the person to remain in faith.
Because of the pressure that the devil puts on one’s faith; in the middle of difficulty he, however, must never give up. A powerful prayer was made for those who had attended the meeting that Tuesday and the whole congregation got the opportunity to surrender their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.
The bishop concluded the meeting by reminding the people of Thokoza about the Sunday of Decision, encouraging them to decide for their lives.
