I thought about becoming a traditional healer
Her story “My life was filled with problems. I was unemployed. Whenever I found a job, I lost it without knowing why. I was forced to depend on my family for financial support. I also had no love life. I thought about becoming a traditional healer … but then, I heard of the Church and I wanted my life to change.
“Slowly the fear that I had in me ended. I got a job and I began seeing my life fall into place. I also learnt that God had a greater purpose for my life and that I deserved to live a complete life. After four months of prayer I met my boyfriend … the relationship became serious and we wanted to become a family. The only wall between us was the difference in our faith.” Mrs Nxumalo never lost faith. She continued to invite her husband to the Church which he eventually joined. “ I continued praying for our relationship … I took part in the campaign of Israel and my request was to have a son and indeed we had a son.
I continued taking part in the campaigns and I started a business that I run from home. It’s a profitable one.” His story
“When I met my wife I belonged to another church where I was one of the elders. I refused to go to her church because I was taught that what I believed in was right. I even gave her an ultimatum that she had to choose between me and her faith.” His life underwent a transformation in the next few years with marriage, the birth of their son and the opportunity to build a home for his family.
“ In 2008 I built our house and I sold the four second hand cars I had to buy myself the car of my dreams. I was retrenched, but after three months I found a job as a manager.” Today Mr and Mrs Nxumalo can testify to the power of faith and perseverance.
