Put His words into action

He created heaven and earth. He parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to walk on dry land. Entire armies were defeated at His word. What shall we say then about God's power to change the lives of those who are suffering?

Is God limited? Let us analyse the following Biblical Scripture: "…A prophet is not without honour except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house." Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marvelled because of their unbelief…" Mark 6:4-6

Lay hands on a few -- that was all Je-sus could do in Nazareth. They were so unbelieving that the Son of God could not bring God's Kingdom to that place. When talking about changing lives, God is limited by people’s own decisions and choices. Whether they believe or not will determine if the power of God will be poured out or not. In short, God has the power to change your life, even if the problem you are acing is impossible -- but will you allow Him?

I remember some years ago, while doing a service that we used to call “The 12 Apostles” on Tuesdays, we used to challenge people’s impossible problems. I had just started the service, the church was full and there was a spirit of faith. One man entered the church pushing another man in a wheel chair, and I thought: 'Now is the time to show God's power' and I shouted: "Bring that man here to the front, please." I looked at him and said: "Do you believe God has the power to heal you now?" And he said "Yes". Then I boldly said into the microphone, "In the name of Jesus, stand up and walk!” I wanted everyone to see that man walking right there and then. The paralytic stared at me and said: "But how? I just arrived at the church. It is my first time here. How am I going to walk?"

Well, he was not healed. Nothing happened that day, just because he did not believe. God was ready to glorify His name and make that man walk, but God was limited by that man's decision to believe or not. How many people are out there living a life of ashes and sadness, while God can do so much in their lives? He can restore marriages, rebuild families and give you a great future. All of these require faith in His promises.

Let us keep things simple: you have problems, God has solutions for all of them. Since the time of Adam up to now, God has determined that the first step must be ours!

God wants to change your life. He wants to bless you. But, you will have to use your faith. Even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed, you can see the great power of God being manifested in your life. Therefore, don't forget. God will come to you somehow and give you the word for action. When you hear it, act!

May the Spirit of God enter your life and give you the courage to put HIS words into action!

God bless you all
