Back to School enriched minds, enriched lives

The Youth Power Group (YPG) is a group in the Universal Church for young people from the ages of 14 to 30 years. Formed by young, dedicated volunteers, it aims to help change the lives of young people throughout the country.
The YPG works as a support structure to help the young reach their dreams. It tackles social issues, addiction, domestic problems, bullying and any other form of negative influence through social work, indoor and outdoor activities, motivational meetings and awareness events.
On Saturday 9 February the Youth Power Group in Universal Church (YPG), will host a 'Back to School' campaign that is aimed to encourage young people to choose a right career path, work hard to excel in their studies, jobs and businesses.
The Back to school campaign started in 2015, where group members visit different schools and universities on Mondays and Fridays every week to motivate learners.
Last year the YPG, started visiting universities such as University of Johannesburg, Soweto campus, New Doorfontein and Wits University.
The YPG holds meetings every Sunday at 12.30pm. Times may vary in different branches. Sunday meetings are called "Youth Frequency" and each week various topics relating to issues that affect youth are discussed. Those attending are divided into two categories to cater for age differences and maturity levels and comprise the Battle of the tribes and Young adults.
