Invest in Spiritual Development
Reading exposes a person to new ideas and information, ways to solve problems and new ways to achieve goals in life.
It is important for a person to read material that will be of benefit and help development not only in one area of life such as leisure, adventure or finance. One also needs to invest in their spiritual development.
Listening to preaching and praying is good, but not always good enough to give one wisdom.
Reading increases one's faith, enabling one to believe what has not been seen.
In the book of Hosea, God said, "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge."
Seeking wisdom could help one to handle different challenges better, especially as they apply to the Word of God.
The Bible is the first book that Christians are encouraged to read every day as it carries God’s guidance for every situation. There are many other spiritual books that can help and develop a person spiritually.
The Universal Church supports this reading initiative and holds Bible studies on Wednesdays. There is also the Universal bookshop which has a wide range of spiritual books on many topics.
The bookshop of the church is situated at the Johannesburg branch and it is open weekdays and Sundays. For more information on purchasing a book, speak to your local pastor.
