A broken marriage restored

“My parents separated when I was young and I was raised by my father and stepmother. My stepmother ill-treated me and that made me very angry. I did not care about anyone except myself.

When I got married, I did not respect my husband and often fought with him. I always had to have the last say. I often shouted at him for no reason. I was an angry person, used to accuse him of cheating and called him useless. I felt good after fighting with him. My husband was never at home because I was constantly nagging him.

I did not know what I was doing wrong until I started attending services in the Universal Church. In the church, I was made to realise that my behaviour was bad. In one service, the pastor said that in order for a person to change, they needed to receive the Holy Spirit.

I attended the chains of prayers everyday for my transformation and for my marriage. I read my Bible everyday. I prayed and asked God for strength because I knew I could not do it alone. I attended the Wednesday and Sunday services for spiritual growth. My behaviour started changing.

Presently, I have an amazing life. I am a changed woman. I am no longer grumpy or angry. I am not selfish anymore. I do not fight with my husband nor call him useless. I have inner peace and my marriage has been restored. My husband no longer avoids being with me and we enjoy each other’s company. I have a relationship with God. My life serves as a testimony that God can transform a person’s life,” said Tholakele.
